Three Steps to Get Started

The entire process takes less than 2 minutes. Just follow along.

1

Enable Developer Options

First, you need to unlock Developer Options on your Android phone. This is a hidden menu that Google requires for installing beta/test apps.

  1. Open the Settings app on your Android phone
  2. Scroll down and tap About Phone (on some phones: About Device)
  3. Find Build Number — tap it 7 times rapidly
  4. You'll see a toast message: "You are now a developer!"
  5. Go back to Settings — you'll now see Developer Options in the menu
On Samsung devices, go to Settings → About Phone → Software Information → Build Number. On Xiaomi/POCO, go to Settings → About Phone → MIUI Version.
2

Enable Internal App Sharing

Google Play Internal Testing requires a specific setting to be turned on in Developer Options.

  1. Open Settings → Developer Options
  2. Scroll down to find Internal App Sharing
  3. Toggle it ON
  4. You may see a confirmation dialog — tap OK to proceed
This setting allows you to install test versions of apps shared via Google Play Console. It's safe and officially supported by Google.
3

Download VivaLyn Beta

Now you're ready to download the beta version of VivaLyn from Google Play.

  1. Tap the download button below (or copy the link to your phone)
  2. It will open Google Play Store with the VivaLyn beta listing
  3. Tap Install to download the app
  4. Once installed, open VivaLyn and start speaking!

You're All Set!

Developer Options enabled? Internal App Sharing on? Tap the button below to install VivaLyn Beta.

Make sure you open this link on your Android phone (not desktop). If the link doesn't work, verify that Internal App Sharing is enabled in Developer Options.

Common Questions

Is enabling Developer Mode safe?

Yes, absolutely. Developer Options is a built-in Android feature used by millions of developers and testers. Enabling it doesn't affect your phone's security or warranty. You can disable it anytime from Settings.

Why do I need Developer Mode for the beta?

Google Play Internal Testing (the method we use to distribute the beta) requires the 'Internal App Sharing' toggle inside Developer Options. This is Google's standard process for distributing test apps before public release.

Will my data be safe during the beta?

Yes. VivaLyn stores all your data — diary entries, tasks, expenses, wellness data — on your device only. The beta uses the same privacy-first architecture as the final release. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

Can I disable Developer Mode after installing?

Yes. After installing VivaLyn, you can turn off Developer Options from Settings. The app will continue to work normally. However, keep Internal App Sharing on if you want to receive future beta updates.

I'm getting an error when opening the link. What should I do?

Make sure you've completed Steps 1 and 2 first (Developer Options ON + Internal App Sharing ON). Then open the download link in your phone's browser — it should redirect to Google Play Store. If it still doesn't work, try restarting your phone and opening the link again.

How do I report bugs or give feedback?

We'd love to hear from you! Use the Contact form on our website or email us directly. Your feedback during beta is invaluable in shaping the final product.
